Zaki Alattar - Projects

In the second semester of my freshman year at UC Berkeley, I joined the Berkeley Political Review as a writer for their World section. My writings focused on the penultimate chapter of the Obama doctrine as it related to the Asia Pivot and the Middle East. You can find my articles below.

In my sophmore year, I became the Depurty Opinion Editor, and later the Senior Opinion Editor. I oversaw a section of 12 Berkeley students writing on all matters economic, cultural, and political and taking on the newly emerging debates on campus free speech and censorship at the apex of the conflict with the 2016 election and the speakership of multiple controversial figures that fall and following spring.

In my Junior year, I took on the challenge of forming an entirely new section - an effort that had never been done before at the Berkeley Political Review. The section was focused on fostering debate and direct clash between mutually opposed sides.

The fall semester of my senior year was my last semester with the BPR. I became the Senior Editor of the Rejoinder section and helped organize our Fall retreat to Tahoe.
