Aral Region Water Filtration

In late March, I joined a team of local environmental engineers and organizers on a project to support access to clean water in the Aral Region of western Uzbekistan.

Science Fair

The students’ projects culminated in a science fair with half a dozen local schools, three deputies from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan and the governor of Karakalpakstan in attendance. The regional news television station also covered the event and conducted interviews with participants. Students explained the process, purpose, and results of their project and performed a live demonstration to the attendees. We ended the fair with awards and a hundred hard goodbyes.
